Adolescenti e identità di genere tra libertà e limiti. Una ricerca quali-quantitativa nei territori di Como, Monza e Lecco

This study explores the experiences and meanings related to identity forma-tion in adolescents, focusing on gender issues in the provinces of Como, Lecco,and Monza-Brianza. Promoted by the Fondazione don Silvano Caccia and theARC center of the Catholic University of Milan between March and June 2024, itcomprises 20 in-depth interviews and a questionnaire completed by about 500adolescents. The results described in the article provide a broad and rich rep-resentation of adolescence in relation to the processes of self-discovery: fromprevalent emotions to their relationship with the future, from role models to relationships; from gender identity to the meaning of freedom and the chal -lenges of finding direction. Altogether, it presents a complex and detailed pic-ture entrusted to the adult world, encouraging it to rethink its role in guiding,educating, and caring for adolescents.
