Il corpus senecano dei Padovani: manoscritti e loro datazione

This article investigates the tradition of works of Seneca known to the Paduan humanists, beginning with a detailed examination of MS Vat. lat. 1769, which contains all Seneca's works and belonged to Rolando da Piazzola, nephew of Lovato. This fresh investigation leads to a dating in the first decade of the 14th century. There are autograph notes by Rolando and Mussato. Inquiry into the tradition of the individual Senecam works, extended to MSS connected in various ways, makes clear a link between the Vatican MS and a small group of MSS that transmit rare pieces, in particular Ambr. D 276 inf., Antonianus I 9, Par. lat. 11855 and Vat. lat. 2213.
