This essay examines the regulatory strategies adopted by seven Asian countries (China, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, India, and selected Southeast Asian states) regarding artificial intelligence, focusing on the balance between technological innovation and the protection of fundamental rights. It highlights the growing influence of the European regulatory model (Brussels effect) and the gradual convergence towards hybrid forms of regulatory co-opetition, where competition and cooperation merge to ensure sustainable AI governance. The study offers a comparative analysis of key legislative frameworks, underscoring the legal and cultural specificities shaping regulation in different national contexts.
