The Draghi Report, published in September 2024, analyzes the European Union's challenging economic situation. Although it does not directly address banking and finance, the Report presents ambitious proposals to boost European competitiveness. These will require investments of at least €800 billion annually for five years, thus highlighting the need for a full mobilization of public finances and private savings. In this article, we will seek to uncover the rationale behind the Draghi Report, examining its analysis of both financial markets and the necessary developments within the European banking system. The Report proposes developing the system along the lines of the American model, rather than exploring a possible alternative, even one that may conflict with that model, to ensure the Union's future.

Abstract
The Draghi Report, published in September 2024, analyzes the European Union's challenging economic situation. Although it does not directly address banking and finance, the Report presents ambitious proposals to boost European competitiveness. These will require investments of at least €800 billion annually for five years, thus highlighting the need for a full mobilization of public finances and private savings. In this article, we will seek to uncover the rationale behind the Draghi Report, examining its analysis of both financial markets and the necessary developments within the European banking system. The Report proposes developing the system along the lines of the American model, rather than exploring a possible alternative, even one that may conflict with that model, to ensure the Union's future.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
