The primary objective of this study is to reinvestigate the themes of identity and cultural diversity through theoretical perspectives accessible to postcolonial theories. The concept of cultural alterity is embedded within a logical structure that oscillates between self-reference and denial of the Other. The Western moral and cultural superiority has been adopted as an unchallenged model, where each reality is valued and inserted as a global, Westernized perspective. In this regard, a significant interdisciplinary research corpus, particularly in Anglo-Saxon countries, has criticized the discriminatory features of these studies, highlighting the nexus between power and culture, and the polarity of Orient/Occident. Consequently, the chosen postcolonial theories here do not adopt chronological values and do not refer to the period following colonialism. Instead, they aim to critique different patterns and invite to rethink the world that produced and disseminated Western colonialism. Ultimately, the reconfiguration of the concept of modernity to include all marginalized cultures is one of the primary objectives of this study.
