The widespread issue of physical inactivity can be traced back to individuals who have been deprived of their essential right to physical education and engagement in school sports (PES). Growing up without access to the basic human right of physical movement and sports participation has contributed to the persistence of physical inactivity among students. This research aimed to investigate the current understanding of PES's role in various aspects of human development, while highlighting the concerning decline of PES. To enhance the effectiveness of the study, a thorough desk research method was employed, gathering pertinent information from a range of online sources, such as reports, policies, charters, recommendations, and articles from international organisations focused on PES, health, and culture. The positive impacts of PES are explored across both physical and emotional domains. Despite its crucial contribution to overall human growth, PES has gradually been neglected since the close of the twentieth century. Consequently, raising awareness about PES as a core pillar for society in the twenty-first century is essential to transform the promises and policies surrounding PES into tangible actions and practices.

Abstract
Consequently, raising awareness about PES as a core pillar for society in the twenty-first century is essential to transform the promises and policies surrounding PES into tangible actions and practices.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
