The aim of this essay is to discuss the concept of “phenomenological anthropology”. The problem is reconstructing how philosophical anthropology, sociology, cultural anthropology, and var-ious trends of phenomenology tried giving an answer to the anthropological question. The first part will be dedicated to a discussion of anthropology in Husserl, the second part will deal with the concept of lifeworld and its use in sociological and anthropological practice, the third part will discuss the problem of embodiment.
