Icone di “spazi (urbano)normativi”

Through the analysis of some images of “city” as a “legal typus”, the paper focuses on the dialectical relation between space and law. On the one hand, the role played by the urban (and non-hurban) space in shaping the legal normativity (i.e. polis, urbs, imperium, civitas) emerges, on the other hand the legal and political dimension takes shape as a formant of the concept of space (i.e. raya, Peter the Great’s Saint Petersburg, Walter Benjamin’s Paris and the Nazi Welthaupstadt Germania). The contemporary recombination of the pair space-law implies both the creation of an imaginary urban spatiality (i.e. metaverse related to real cities or “meta-cities”) and the increasing implementation of legal hubs (i.e. “metropolitan city” and “digital citizenship”). In conclusion, the modification of the urban space, more widely of the “legal space”, calls into question the nature and the relevance of the relation space-normativity as well as the related concepts of “order” and narrative dimension.
