This research explores the teaching of Italian as a second language (L2) within a university context at the Università Cattolica “Nostra Signora del Buon Consiglio” in Tirana (UCNSBC), which represents a unique model of higher education in Italian language outside Italy. The university, indeed, offers courses entirely taught in Italian, which serves as the official language of instruction. The study investigates the linguistic and educational needs of UCNSBC students through data collection, to provide methodological suggestions for teaching Italian L2. After examining the profile of university Italian language students abroad, the study emphasizes the promotion and spread of the Italian language in Albania. The research is based on data collected through a questionnaire administered to UCNSBC students, to identify their specific needs and motivations. Based on these findings, the study proposes teaching activities designed to enhance the instruction of Italian L2 abroad.

Abstract
