This paper attributes to Francesco Morone an initial with the Massacre of the Innocents, cut from a gradual. It investigates his work as a miniaturist, known so far only from a sheet at the Metropolitan Museum of New York. The issue concerns his collaboration and friendship with Girolamo dai Libri and the use of graphic models, involving a canvas in the parish church of Monteforte d'Alpone, which is also ascribed to Francesco.
