The inquiry on the emotional life of teenagers in Italy pointed out that most relevant emotions during adolescence are (along others) anger and frustration, anxiety and fear of failure, sense of powerlessness and meaninglessness. Education should provide places where existential protagonism of young people can recover from irrelevance, by practicing together the exercise of word and action, in order to overcome individualism and narcissism that threatens to reduce their capacity for self-transcendence and self-actualisation.

Abstract
