The concept of Pananglism, which emerged in the late 19th century, emphasized the unity of English-speaking nations based on shared cultural and political values, particularly between the United States and the United Kingdom. This laid the foundation for what is now referred to as the Anglosphere, a geopolitical network that includes the so-called Anglo-American special relationship and key countries like Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Over time, this network evolved through the Cold War and into the XXI century, adapting to shifting global power dynamics. The Anglosphere’s role in security affairs, especially through the relationship between the UK and the US, has been crucial, and its relevance persists in modern conflicts such as the war in Ukraine. This conflict has reinforced the centrality of the Anglo-American role in Western security architecture, including in confronting the revisionist policies of Russia and China. While nations like France push for European strategic autonomy, the Anglosphere remains a critical pillar in addressing global challenges, from defending liberal international order to maintaining stability in Europe and the Indo-Pacific.

Abstract
While nations like France push for European strategic autonomy, the Anglosphere remains a critical pillar in addressing global challenges, from defending liberal international order to maintaining stability in Europe and the Indo-Pacific.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
