Comunicare per abitare l’imprevedibile, un giorno alla volta

The issue of the unexpected and the unpredictable constitutes one of the key challenges in the current epochal change. The field of communication processes is a crucial area where not only the methods and actors of media are changing, but also the substance of social facts. The critical point lies in the capacity of social actors, on the one hand, to withstand the pressure they are subjected to due to the enormous amount of output and the speed at which it circulates; and on the other hand, to understand how these devices function, without attributing to them a subjectivity they do not possess, but at the same time, without underestimating the risks they introduce into the management of our daily lives and our societies.

La questione dell’imprevisto e dell’imprevedibile costituisce uno dei nodi del cambiamento d’epoca in corso e vede nel campo dei processi comunicativi un ambito dove a trasformarsi non sono solo i modi e gli attori dei media, ma la sostanza dei fatti sociali. Il punto critico è la capacità degli attori sociali da un lato di reggere la pressione cui sono soggetti a causa dell’enorme quantità di output e della velocità con cui essi vengono messi in circolazione; dall’altro a capire come funzionano tali dispositivi, senza attribuire loro soggettività, che essi non hanno, ma, nel contempo, senza sottovalutare i rischi che essi introducono nella gestione delle nostre vite quotidiane e delle nostre società.
