Purpose To evaluate the possible role of Nuclear Medicine imaging in Non-Oncological Surgical Emergencies, with possible recent advances in this field. Methods A narrative review to update Nuclear Medicine imaging tools in the field of non-oncological surgical emergencies was performed, in comparison with conventional radiological imaging techniques, included and discussed from a clinical and surgical point of view. Results Although acute inflammation is an established setting in Nuclear Medicine (acute appendicitis, pancreatitis, and gastro-intestinal bleedings), all indications need more evidence-based data to be diffused in clinical practice, in particular in non-oncological surgical emergencies. Conclusions Larger studies are needed to confirm and expand the role of this diagnostic tool in clinics.

Abstract
Conclusions Larger studies are needed to confirm and expand the role of this diagnostic tool in clinics.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
