the discussion proposes one methofìdological reflection in the social research applied to the migratory phenomenon. This research is indicated here as inter-cultural approach, focused on methods used to analyse the categories of race and ethnicity. the author faces these aspects shortly beginning from recent experiences of research in sociology of education, in order to point out the cultural difficulties in the field research, giving a warning of ethnocentric perspective.
