Through an illustrative selection of studies from the series "Biblical Hermeneutics Rediscovered" of the Indian publishing house Christian World Imprints, this survey offers a review of some strands of research on New Testament hermeneutics in contemporary India. A significant component is the application of the dynamics of early Christianity to the current socio-political and religious scenario in India, with special focus on the challenging situation of Christians. The particular context of north-east India is explored more closely.
