Note sulla tradizione di testi gnostici in Clemente Alessandrino

The article collects and analyzes for the first time as a whole the 31 fragmentary quotations coming from 'Gnostic' sources scattered in the works of Clement of Alexandria and precisely in the Stromata and in the so-called Excerpta ex Theodoto. The author limits and reports the documentary fragments attributed by Clement himself to Basilides, Isidorus, Epiphanes, Valentinus and Heracleon, or left anonymous. An Italian translation and a detailed contextualization are offered for each one. In doing so, priority is given to the identification of the methods and purposes that characterize the individual quotations, to the historical-religious aspects and to appropriate philological and stylistic-literary notes.

L'articolo raccoglie e analizza per la prima volta nel loro complesso le 31 citazioni frammentarie provenienti da fonti 'gnostiche' sparse nelle opere di Clemente di Alessandria e precisamente negli Stromati e nei cosiddetti Excerpta ex Theodoto. L'autore circoscrive e riporta i frammenti documentari attribuiti da Clemente stesso a Basilide, Isidoro, Epifane, Valentino ed Eracleone, oppure lasciati anonimi. Di ognuno viene offerta la traduzione italiana e una circostanziata contestualizzazione. Nel far ciò, è data priorità all'individuazione delle modalità e finalità che caratterizzano le singole citazioni, agli aspetti storico-religiosi e a opportune note filologiche e stilistico-letterarie.
