Social innovation connects the concepts of “innovation” and “society.” It indicates initiatives implemented in order to provide better solutions to social needs and problems, tackling issues in fields such as economy, education, health, policy making, and work. In so doing, social innovation supports can shape society by weakening or strengthening, dispelling or creating, new relationships between the subjects, which encompasses human beings and nonhuman beings and objects.
