Abstract

The contribution refers to studies in developmental psychology and to the importance of the concept of resilience - within the process-oriented model - has progressively assumed in the explanation of paths of evolution at risk. Today it appears crucial to analyse both the mechanisms which may modify dysfunctional trajectories and the conditions that allow individuals to overcome extreme difficulties and experiences. In situations of risk, the main question is not– therefore - whether the early experiences have had a lasting effect, but rather whether this effect is permanent in relation to the subsequent existential conditions (similar/dissimilar or continuous/discontinuous). The preferred intervention remains that based on the support of the family and the parent's role (Triple P Programme) in the various phases of transition marking the stages of the child's development, so that resources and protective factors can be evaluated and enhanced to combat risk conditions.
