La Banca popolare di Novara tra le due guerre mondiali. Dinamiche espansive tra radici locali e orizzonti nazionali

The aim of this article is to pay attention to the expansive model put in place by the Popular Bank of Novara between 1921-1943 in Italy. In fact, during the Ventennio, the model of the territorial bank and that of the big bank oriented to the financial market of the Country, were flanked by institutions that were able to follow a third path by reconciling the two souls without distorting themselves. The investigation carried out for this article and the conclusions it has reached go in the direction of including both dimensions, local and national, through an analysis supported by an approach that goes to study the role played by the relationship between the regime and governance of the Popular in its development and in its participation in the acquisition of other banks; and how the BPN has been able to reconcile its role as a territorial bank with the ambitions of a national player.
