Aesthetic sense and understanding represents an important educational challenge in present times: our society is characterized by processes of aesthetization, and personal aesthetic judgments threaten to be "formatted" by the mediatisation of imposed standards. The problem of beauty and the development of an appropriate aesthetic taste must therefore be reinterpreted in order to grasp its existential, ethical and political implications.

Abstract
