The world of fashion is often perceived as merely made of haute couture shows, famous top models, unique dresses and genial designers who populate the media. Nonetheless, it is not to forget the hundreds of thousands of professionals whose craft, industrial and economic skills prove fundamental for the success of such an important international sector. This article aims at studying the terminology of fashion used by these specialists, remarkably in multilingual communication. The analysis is organized into three sections: firstly, a concept map is sketched in order to handle the notional and lexical complexity of this field; the second part specifies the text genres of the corpus, that is to say the technical glossaries by textile industry companies and the magazines addressed to international buyers. Finally, the main aspects of terminology and of the translation strategies identified in the sources are discussed.

Abstract
Finally, the main aspects of terminology and of the translation strategies identified in the sources are discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
