The issue of cognition and metacognition in judges' activity ise dealt with in the chapter, with a focus on two main points. The first one is the identification and description of general and specific cognitive processes that qualify judges' activity during a trial. The second point is giving suggestions on training programmes aimed at developing cognitive abbilities of joung judges.
