In this paper we refer about AChE cytochemical distribution in the duck ciliary ganglion. The reaction product occurs, besider, thè neuronal cytoplasm and surface, also in the interstitial spaces interposed between elongated processes of the perineuronal satellite cells. The abundance of AChE within the neuronal RER cisternae, its lack in the satellite cytoplasm and its presence in thè ganglionic interstitium seem to confirm thè validity of AChE neurosecretion theory also in thè autonomie nervous system. Further experiments are needed in such direction in order to find AChE reaction near to pericapi llary areas. The functional role of such signal-like AChE molecule stili remains to be elucidated.
