The term "application of scientific evidence" was first introduced in the medical field during the final decade of the previous century. A team of researchers, including David Eddy, David Sackett, and Gordon Guyatt, recognized that the majority of clinical decisions were based on outdated medical notions and, as a result, neglected the latest findings from research. Over time, these scholars realized the need to adopt a more effective investigative method that respected the dynamic and variable nature of scientific research in its various fields of application. This new method was designed to provide more relevant, recent, and useful information to improve research outcomes.

Abstract
The term "application of scientific evidence" was first introduced in the medical field during the final decade of the previous century. A team of researchers, including David Eddy, David Sackett, and Gordon Guyatt, recognized that the majority of clinical decisions were based on outdated medical notions and, as a result, neglected the latest findings from research. Over time, these scholars realized the need to adopt a more effective investigative method that respected the dynamic and variable nature of scientific research in its various fields of application. This new method was designed to provide more relevant, recent, and useful information to improve research outcomes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
