The essay is a reworking of the speech given at the Conference on "Onere della prova e accertamento del fatto nel nuovo processo civile" organised at the Università Cattolica del S. Cuore - Milan 20 April 2023. The Author sets out the guidelines of the 2022 Reform of the Italian Code of Civil Procedure on the challenge to the second instance judgment in front of the Supreme Court. New deflative tools are provided as far as a new regulation of the content of the recourse: the principle of self-sufficiency, placed to protect the prohibition of requesting the review of questions of fact, is linked to the new general principle of conciseness and clarity of defense acts, provided for in the new Article 121 of the Code of Civil Procedure.
