Considering the above mentioned communitarian experiences in Europe, the aim of this intervention is to show how monastic life, historically born in the undivided Church, can be a privileged and effective experience of ecumenism- However, historical, theological and legal problems, like for example the Reformers' thought about religious life and its consequences are not left out but re-considered in the light of theological and pastoral re-elaboration which has been done inside the mentioned Churches in temporary age.
