“Come una ciotola greca”. Romano Guardini lettore di Mörike

The volume Gegenwart und Geheimnis (1957) by Romano Guardini is dedicated to the interpretation of five poems by Eduard Mörike: Guardini draws attention to the modernity of the Swabian poet’s verses, whose apparent lightness actually conceals the manifestation of arcane dimensions of existence. Guardini’s interpretative praxis, the culmination of more than thirty years of activity, becomes, on closer inspection, an opportunity to reflect on the very meaning of literary interpretation.
