Scholars from very different backgrounds, places and academic fields have dealt again with the theme of Montale’s landscape. The discussion provided a space for analysis and exchange of ideas with no predetermined line of thinking or underlying thesis. Using landscape as a starting point, everybody spoke freely on her/his Montale, sometimes treating very different topics. Montale’s landscape was explored as a spiritual place, a comprehensive symbol of a unique and rich inner world.
