The fable of the Eagle and the Snake, that is found in the Babylonian story of Etana(XVIIth century b.C.), shows some analogies with a tale of the 'Roman de Renart', with reference to the wolf and the fox. A confrontation with some Aesop's fables seem to confirm this hypothesis.

Abstract
