To console people from their misfortunes, the Basran judge and writer al-Tanukhi collects a series of short narratives populated by the most diverse characters. In line with his Mu'talizi beliefs, al-Tanukhi's happy-ending stories all convey the same message: God does not forsake His servants who put their trust in Him. (The Italian translation of the stories is taken from Antonella Ghersetti's Il Sollievo dopo la distretta (Ariele, Milano 1995) with the addition of four new passages. Abstract

See pag. 127 for more details).
