Introductory essay to the celebratory study of the first centenary of activity of the Institute Berna in Mestre. The essay illustrates the reasons that led Don Luigi Orione to start the professional school with the support of the Patriarch of Venice; the method followed and the archival papers, as well as the evolution of the Training Center in the light of changes in the world of work and national legislation.
Saggio introduttivo allo studio celebrativo del primo centenario di attività dell’Istituto Berna di Mestre. Si illustrano le motivazioni che hanno portato don Luigi Orione ad avviare la scuola professionale con il sostegno del patriarca di Venezia; il metodo seguito e le carte d’archivio, nonché l’evoluzione del Centro di formazione alla luce dei cambiamenti del mondo del lavoro e della normativa nazionale.
