In February 2015 Riccardo Carazzetti, former curator of the Archaeological Museum of Locarno and director of the city’s cultural services, saw the statue-stele S.1 from the train whilst travelling on the Vigezzina-Centovalli train line. Subsequently, he was able to locate and reach the site, reporting it to the Superintendency. On May 18, 2019, after a long illness, he passed away at the age of 66. Abstract
