« D’une fenêtre à l’autre. Étude d’un motif spécifique à la littérature blanche et au roman sentimental »

In this article, we will focus on the discursive functions assumed in context by the phraseological motif regarder par la fenêtre. This motif is specific to contemporary French-language novels which belong to the general and sentimental sub-genres within the corpus of the ANR-DFG PhraseoRom project. In particular, we will examine the similarities and the differences that the phraseological motif and its discursive functions maintain with the motif of the window that runs through literary history. In addition, we will analyse the discursive functions of the motif and the margins of overlap and/or distinction between the two sub-genres under study.
