Abstract

Sapphyrins are highly colored compounds with an expanded aromatic system. In this paper, thin films of sapphyrin derivatives are used for the development of optochemical sensors. Absorption spectra showed remarkable changes after interactions with analytes. In this extended abstract the development of a measurement set-u p and preliminary results toward detection of some volatile organic compounds are reported.
