In this chapter, we analyze how WeChat was used as acommunication platform by Chinese nationals from the People’s Republic of China living in Italy (hereafter referred to as the “Chinese community”) during the emergency. We also focus on the way it functioned as a vehicle to strengthen connections with Italian users and institutions.
