What is the relationship between justice and good? Could anything be both good and unjust? Or just, but not good? What does good mean? The essay attempts to reply to the above questions on the basis of a comparison between John Rawls, who privileges justice, and Paul Ricoeur, who favours good. The paper deals with the following three points: 1. firstly, it tries to outline the two authors' thought about the issue on a phenomenological basis. 2. the second phase is hermeneutic: the essay tries to interpret the two authors' thought, and to evaluate their potentialities and limitations. 3. Thirdly, once the substantial relationship between justice and good is established and acknowledged, the essay confronts some specific issues about the relationship between good and justice, such as the status of good, the relationship between priority of good and pluralism, the relationship between the interpersonal and the institutional domains. Finally, the essay sketches love, poetry and abundance as the inexhaustible horizon of justice, prose and equivalence.

Quale rapporto c’è tra giustizia e bene? Si danno cose buone e ingiuste? O cose giuste e non buone? Cosa significa buono?
