Urban environment consists of both natural environment and built environment. In Western countries, over the years, its relevance for the quality of human life has been recognized, and recent literature underlies its significance also in reference to the question of social justice; in most developing countries, however, this awareness has yet to be assumed.
L’ambiente urbano è rappresentato sia dall’ambiente naturale, sia da quello costruito. Nei Paesi occidentali, con gli anni, ne è stata riconosciuta sempre più la rilevanza per la qualità della vita umana, e la letteratura recente sottolinea il suo peso anche in riferimento alla questione della giustizia sociale. Nei cosiddetti Paesi in via di sviluppo, tuttavia, tale consapevolezza non sembra ancora essersi affermata.
