The article aims to produce some new documents regarding the life and the letters of Vincenzo Sgualdi (1580ca.-1652). One of them concern the first will disposed by Sgualdi in 1639 and shows family, affective and devotional relations he had in those years. The others throw light upon works commissioned by Sgualdi in Ravenna, in the monastery of St. Vitale, in 1642, in which were involved Baldassarre Longhena and Giovanni Battista Pagliari (Paliari), a venetian sculptor included in Longhena’s entourage.
