Several elements are contributing in the development of a new scenario ofgrapevine diseases: climate change, thenew strategies to manage pests and diseases consequently to the revision of pesticides regulations and the necessity to control emerging diseases. In such regards, many cases ofvirus diseases have been recently reported. Some ofthese viruses cause severe diseases on grapevine and mealybugs are vectors ofsome ofthem. Hereby different species of mealybugs that showed an increase in their population and causing diseases are described, in particular those belonging to Coccidae, Pseudococcidae and Diaspididae.
