Within the multi-differentiated language constellation in our Global Modern World, this paper focuses on a specific language combination by discussing phonetic and phonological aspects of L3 German acquisition after English (L2) by adult Italian (L1) speakers. The language contact under consideration is characterized by exposure to a Romance L1 and two Germanic languages as L2 and L3. The paper investigates whether and to what extent in this specific example of triple language contact, cross-linguistic phonetic influences are originated from L1 and from L2.

Abstract
Within the multi-differentiated language constellation in our Global Modern World, this paper focuses on a specific language combination by discussing phonetic and phonological aspects of L3 German acquisition after English (L2) by adult Italian (L1) speakers. The language contact under consideration is characterized by exposure to a Romance L1 and two Germanic languages as L2 and L3. The paper investigates whether and to what extent in this specific example of triple language contact, cross-linguistic phonetic influences are originated from L1 and from L2.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
