The essay analyzes the mass Transeunte Domino by Giaches de Wert, from the polyphonic codex Sforza (1614-1616), kept in the Historical Archive of the Mantuan Diocese. This mass presents some differences from the one in Codex 55 (1622), kept in the Historical Archive of the Diocese of Udine. The paper tries to contextualize the mass within Giaches de Wert’s corpus and to explain the differences, to see whether they may be the result of interventions from the copyist Sforza or from Gian Giacomo Gastoldi, who worked with the maestro di cappella for a few years (and eventually succeeded him). The essay contains a transcription of the analyzed parts of the two masses
