Emotions are considered as a controversial element in political discourse: on one hand a disinterested (or "neutral") position seems to be the most adequate for taking into account everybody's interests, on the other hand a complete abstinence from any interest is hardly conceivable as an effective political position. This contribution analyses Robespierre's use of the word "disinterest" and some derived lexemes in a corpus of discourses held between 1791 and 1793. We suggest that the mention of personal "disinterest" turns out to be a rhetorical device for the argumentation of Jacobins' position and therefore a typical device for ideological manipulation.
Attraverso l'analisi del lessema "disinteresse" e dei suoi derivati all'interno di un corpus di discorsi tenuti da Robespierre tra il 1791 e il 1793, il contributo mette a fuoco la posizione argomentativamente ambigua e fortemente manipolatoria della pretesa di assoluta neutralità, ricorrentemente utilizzata nel discorso politico.
