Bronchilavelaor lavage abnormalities have been detected in 10 of 12 patients suffering from ankylosing spondylitis with normal chest radiographs. The most common finding was an increased percentage of lymphocytes (6 of 12), Cell counts did not correlate with lung function tests, which was abnormal in 3 subjects. 5 of 10 patients showed normal T4/t/8 ratios; the ratio was increased in 3 and decreased in 2 subjects. Our data indicate a high prevalence of undiagnosed lung parenchymal involvement in ankylosing spondylitis.

Abstract
Bronchilavelaor lavage abnormalities have been detected in 10 of 12 patients suffering from ankylosing spondylitis with normal chest radiographs. The most common finding was an increased percentage of lymphocytes (6 of 12), Cell counts did not correlate with lung function tests, which was abnormal in 3 subjects. 5 of 10 patients showed normal T4/t/8 ratios; the ratio was increased in 3 and decreased in 2 subjects. Our data indicate a high prevalence of undiagnosed lung parenchymal involvement in ankylosing spondylitis.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
