El cuerpo (y la raza) en la Primera Década del «De Orbe Novo» de Pedro Mártir de Anglería

After the arrival of the first news from the Indies, Pedro Mártir de Anglería defines in his letters and in De Orbe Novo a representation of the Indio and the American territory that suddenly spread among his contemporaries. This imagine of the Indio is figured out basically through imagination, and is based on an idea of the other in which is possible to detect both the need to find similarities as the fascination for the unknown. This study aims to define the imagine of the other described by Pedro Mártir as to analyze the ethic question that is purposed by the same in relation to the concepts of body and race and the use that people do of it in the colony as to classify humanity.
