This paper explores the ways and means of memory and writing in Toni Morrison’s novels. Furthermore it examines the persistent presence of race and gender in her fiction and the important role they play as an important feature of black feminist studies: because of their double identity, black women are the victims of both sexual discrimination and racial discrimination.
