The encyclopedic entry deals with parenting, its legal profiles and the conflict between paradigms in the contemporary age. In particular, it highlights the difference between the naturalistic paradigm to which the Constitution and the Italian law were inspired and the voluntaristic paradigm to which jurisprudence sometimes refers. It also highlights the misunderstanding about the criterion of affectivity which can make sense in the juridical attribution of the parental role only a posteriori and not a priori.
