The essay is divided into two parts. The first part briefly describes the purpose and the features of the anonymous vernacular translation of Petrarch’s Fam. XII 2 to Niccolò Acciaiuoli, a treatise-letter on how to administrate a state, pointing out the fact that it was soon included in a rich collection of letters, speeches and other vernacular translations, and describing this collection. The second part adds some manuscripts to those already identified by Vittorio Rossi as containing the Latin text of the letter (either in α or γ form, i.e. the final or the original form) and shows the most important γ variants that can be found in ms. Oxford, Bodleian Library, Laud. Misc. 503, which Vittorio Rossi didn’t study analytically and which explain many vernacular variants of the Italian translation.

Abstract
Misc. 503, which Vittorio Rossi didn’t study analytically and which explain many vernacular variants of the Italian translation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
