Il saggio esamina le competenze europee in materia di retribuzione, ravvisando una serie di strumenti indiretti attraverso i quali il diritto dell'UE influenza le dinamiche retributive degli Stati membri. Qui, all'iniziale corsa verso il basso innescata dai meccanismi del Semestre europeo si contrappongono ora nuovi tentativi di regolazione equilibrata grazie al varo del Pilastro europeo dei diritti sociali.
