La parola per l'infanzia dalla vitalità incantata

Luigi Santucci began writing in the criticism about children’s literature. In fact his first volume was Limiti e ragioni della letteratura infantile (1942). This essay was the degree thesis in Italian Literature discussed in the 1941 at the Università Cattolica of Milan. The genesis of the text and the comparison between the different editions of it allow us to explore the roots of the author’s thought. In fact Santucci moved from the critical reflection towards the creative writing for adults and young people. Subjects as “the innate mith”, the closed world of the child, the word – res as an original source of poetry, the miraculous or the brilliant conformism were important in his critical reflection and then they would become central themes in literary texts.
